The eight hours nobody thinks about

Where the strain comes from
Where the strain comes from

Your top leg falls all night

On your side with nothing between the knees, the upper leg drops forward and pulls the hip and the lower back round with it. Held there for eight hours, that is a slow twist — and it is why you can go to bed fine and wake up stiff without having done anything.

Shaped, not square
Shaped, not square

A hollow for the thigh, room for the knee

A rectangle of foam pushes the knees apart and leaves the thigh unsupported. The deep hollow takes the weight of the upper leg, and the wider end means the knee still has somewhere to go when you curl up — which is how everyone actually sleeps.

The part everyone gets wrong
The part everyone gets wrong

A pillow on the floor helps nobody

Every knee pillow works in the first ten minutes. The question is whether it is still there at four in the morning. This one buttons around your thigh, so it turns when you turn — and that single strap is the difference between a product you use and one you gave up on.

How it works?

1

Slide it between your knees

Lie on your side and let the deep hollow take your upper thigh. The wider end goes toward the knee. It should feel like the leg is being carried, not propped.

2

Button the strap

Bring the grey strap over your thigh and fasten the button. Snug, not tight — you should be able to slip two fingers under it. This is the step everyone skips on night one.

3

Roll over as much as you like

Because it is attached to your leg, it turns when you turn. No hunting under the duvet at two in the morning, and nothing on the floor when you wake up.

Made for everyone who sleeps on their side

The three-in-the-morning wake-up

The three-in-the-morning wake-up

You do not wake because of a noise. You wake because the hip or the knee has been carrying the other leg for four hours and it has had enough. This is the group that notices the difference on night one.

Stiffer than when you went to bed

Stiffer than when you went to bed

If the first ten minutes of your morning are spent loosening up before you can walk properly, the night is doing something to you. Straightening the line is the cheapest place to start.

Pregnancy and recovery

Pregnancy and recovery

Anyone told to sleep on their side and left to work out the rest alone — third trimester, after a hip or knee operation, or while an injury settles. Firm enough to actually hold the leg, not squash flat under it.

Frequently asked questions

Won't it end up on the floor like the last one?
This is the single most common complaint about every knee pillow ever sold, and it is why this one has a strap and a button. It fastens around your thigh, so it is attached to you rather than balanced between you. Skip that step and it will migrate like all the others — use it and it is still in place when the alarm goes.
Is it too firm?
It is firmer than a bed pillow, and it has to be — a soft one squashes flat under the weight of your leg and stops doing anything by midnight. Memory foam softens to your body heat over the first few minutes, so it feels firm in your hands and supportive once you are lying on it.
Will it make me too hot?
Heat is the honest weakness of memory foam, so the cover matters. This one is a breathable ribbed jersey rather than the sealed velour most pillows use, and the foam sits between your legs rather than under your whole body. If you sleep hot, kick the duvet off that leg — it makes more difference than the pillow does.
Does it work if I turn over during the night?
Yes — it turns with you, because it is strapped to your leg. That is the practical advantage over a loose block. It also works on your back with the pillow under the knees, though side sleeping is what it was shaped for.
Can I wash it?
The cover unzips and goes in the machine at 30 degrees. The foam itself never goes in water — it will not dry properly and it will not recover. Air it by an open window instead.
